International Conference

The Centre’s first international conference on the integrated study of East Asia was originally planned for August 2020, but had to be postponed because of the pandemic. Despite continuing travel restrictions it went ahead on 20 to 22 August 2021 in St Anne’s College as a hybrid event, with many international participants attending online through Zoom. There were over 60 people attending with 37 presenters from 13 countries, presenting on a wide range of topics relating to historical and modern East Asia.

This conference was made possible by a grant from The Uehiro Foundation on Ethics and Education.
